The popular Twitch streamer was largely responsible for an increase in the game’s viewership on the streaming platform earlier this year, but has since stopped playing the pirate game on a regular basis.

With a brand new update being released on July 17, which includes a brand new Black Powder Stashes event, he decided to take a look at some of the details.

RareA new Black Powder Stashes event is coming soon to Sea of Thieves, but will summit1g get involved?

Sea of Thieves’ executive producer Joe Neate talked about the new content arriving in the game, including not just the next event, but also changes to Megalodon’s and Hunters Call too – with more rewards being made available to players.

However, after watching the entire developer update video during a Twitch broadcast, summit1g didn’t seem all that impressed by what Neate had to say.

“Hold on, time out. Did he just talk about the same thing for four minutes straight?” he said, pausing the video for a moment, before reluctantly watching the rest.

Throughout the course of the video, summit1g didn’t really have a lot to say about what was being discussed, but the fact that he’s monitoring changes to Sea of Thieves would suggest that he could jump into the action once again on July 17 when the patch goes live.

At this stage, though, that is merely speculation. After all, it was only on July 4 when the streamer claimed that he wanted the game to “die” after what he sees as bad decision-making from developers, following the introduction of earthquakes in the Forsaken Shores update.

Whether or not he will return to the seven seas remains to be seen, but some of his fanbase will certainly be crossing their fingers.
