Another month means another Community Day for Pokemon Go fans to get sucked into. Up next is July 2021, and now we officially know that Tepig will be star of the show.

After Gible was the featured Pokemon for June, Tepig is up next in July as a lot of fans and leaks predicted beforehand. As well as spawn rates being boosted, there are event-exclusive Special Research tasks, bonuses like double XP, and rare moves to be unlocked.

Unlike the weekly Spotlight Hours that only last for 60 minutes, trainers will have a six-hour window to enjoy the Community Day’s special features. They always take place on a Saturday, meaning most people will be able to join in.

On June 21 Pokemon Go officially announced Tepig would be the Community Day ‘mon for July, and below is everything we know.

When’s the next Community Day in Pokemon Go?

Tepig has been officially confirmed as the next Community Day headliner, taking place on July 3, 2021.

The event will take place between 11 AM to 5 PM local time, no matter where you are in the world. The news was confirmed on May 7, 2021 by the official Pokemon Go App Twitter account.

How to prepare for Tepig Community Day in June

If you’re looking to take part in the Tepig Community Day event, there’s a few things you can do to prepare.

  1. Get as many Pokecoins as you can in Pokemon Go!
  2. Spend your Pokecoins on at least two Incenses!
  3. Bring a lot of Poke Balls with you!
  4. Collect as much Pokemon Candy as you can for Tepig, so you can evolve it!

Tepig Exclusive move: Emboar Charged Attack Blast Burn

Emboar will get a special attack if evolved during the Community Day.

In a blog post on June 21, Niantic confirmed a new exclusive Community Day move. If you evolve Tepig’s evolution, Pignite, into Emboar, it will learn the Charged Blast Burn attack.

Players will also have two hours after the Day ends to evolve their Pignite too, meaning if you somehow miss doing it during the event, you’ve at least got a bit of extra time to unlock the exclusive move.

Tepig Community Day bonuses

The following was confirmed in the official blog post by Niantic:

  • 3× Catch Stardust
  • Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours

Community Day Box

There will be a special Community Day Box available to buy for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring the following:

  • 50 Ultra Balls
  • Five Incense
  • Five Star Pieces
  • Elite Charged TM

Roasted Berries Special Research story

There will also be a new Community Day exclusive Special Research Story, called Roasted Berries in Pokemon Go.

Tickets will be made available for the event, and those will be $1 each (or equivalent in your local currency).

For US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Tepig Community Day-exclusive Special Research story, Roasted Berries. This Special Research will not include an in-game medal, but it’s certainly something for fans to look out for.

Shiny Tepig Pokemon Go catch rate and Shiny odds

More Tepigs spawning means a better chance for one of them to be shiny.

For Pokemon Go Community Day events, the catch rates for Headliner Pokemon are increased. This means the rates that Shiny versions appear is increased as well

Shiny Pokemon are the rarest form in-game, and many Trainers have credited Community Days for their successful encounters. Maybe this time, you’ll grab a Shiny Tepig as part of the action! There’s also a 3x Catch XP bonus, so make sure you’re grabbing as many as you can.
