Overwatch’s endorsement system seems to have lost some of the appeal it had when it was first added to the game earlier in 2018, and now Philadelphia Fusion streamer Jeff ‘emongg’ Anderson explained that the inconsistency of the system is what makes it seem almost pointless.

Endorsements are a way for Overwatch players to acknowledge other players after a match in a positive way, and players can get up to level endorsement level five.

The streamer explained that in his experience, every time he got up to level four endorsement, he would quickly drop back down to level three, going back and forth between the two all the time.

“Here’s how I feel about endorsements: Hey I’m level four, yay I got level four endorsement level,” emongg imitated for fans. “‘Your endorsement level has gone from four to three,’ yay I lost an endorsement level.”

He went back and forth between the two a few times before he clarified it was this inconsistency with the system that he had a problem with.

“I don’t know what, they literally need to redo their system,” he told viewers. “It feels pointless at this point, that’s endorsements.”

Endorsements came out earlier in 2018 to a lot of fanfare from some people in the Overwatch community, with some even going so far as to claim the system had “saved” the game.

Overwatch has a lot in the works right now, but whether or not that includes a rework to the endorsement system anytime in the near future hasn’t been revealed.
