It has been announced that DJ Khaled will perform at the Overwatch League grand finals.
The grand finals are taking place at the Barclays Center in New York on July 27-28, and DJ Khaled will perform ahead of the games on Saturday July 28.
Matches on Saturday kick off at 6pm CT, with DJ Khaled’s set taking place before then. Blizzard announced that the show would be streamed on Twitch, although it’s unclear whether DJ Khaled’s set will be shown on any of the other platforms that the grand finals themselves will appear on.
Musical performances at esports events aren’t unheard of, but they’ve typically been met with lukewarm reception. DJ Khaled is among the bigger names to try to pull it off, however, so perhaps he can set a new standard.

The grand finals will be between London Spitfire and Philadelphia Fusion, the latter of whom denied New York Excelsior the opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd.
As the lowest seeds in the playoffs, the two teams might not have appeared likely finalists, especially against each other, but both London and Philadelphia caught fire for the most important matches of the season, blistering their way to Barclays Center.
The grand finals kick off with the first best-of-five at 9pm CT on Friday July 27. Saturday will host the second best-of-five, as well as a third and final series should the teams be tied after the first two.
