Clever Overwatch stall spot stops teams from pushing Havana payload

There is a clever spot on Havana that is surprisingly effective at keeping the enemy Overwatch team from pushing the payload past a certain point – until you get noticed, that is.

Havana is rife with sketchy turns where an opponent can be lurking for the perfect flank, but one Hammond player actually used a generally unnoticed corner on the map to waste precious time off the clock.

Reddit user ‘OG-Pine’ managed to keep themselves in Hammond’s Wrecking Ball form to blend in with environmental objects laid out on the map near the playload’s starting position. It also helped that the player had a wall of tall bushes to conceal his oversized mech.

But the positioning started to pay off. While OG-Pine’s team did a great job at initially holding the foe’s advances, when they were ultimately drawn away from the payload, Wrecking Ball stayed behind to stall out the defense.

Placing themselves over a few boxes just outside of the Viola y Orsino building, the Ball looked like the fit in as just another decoration placed on the map.

The disguise proved to be helpful when the enemy team started to push up their payload. All a defending team needs is a single player on the truck to keep it from moving forward.

Another spot for Hammond stall. I can’t believe this worked! from Overwatch

The hidden hamster was in range of the payload’s lane, preventing it from being pushed up even though the other team was grouped up and ready to advance.

After about 30 seconds, the Hammond gave away their position. It was even more bewildering to see that trick work again moments after, seeing as they nestled themselves in the same place when the action cooled down.

There’s been stall spots discovered on Havana before, particularly with Wrecking Ball.

Even though they were discovered, the Overwatch player was able to use the spot again in quick succession to stall out the enemy team.

These spots can gift teams entire minutes off the enemy team’s timer that makes them play much more desperately than they would have otherwise.

As more players become aware of this stall spot, expect more players to check this corner if they suddenly realize that the payload is being contested with no one in sight.

Until then, this could be an incredibly effective place on Havana to give your Overwatch team some time to regroup or to simply troll the other team.
