An important piece of history, the Notre Dame Cathedral, caught fire on April 15 and while it wasn’t lost completely, a large piece of it has been destroyed.

France vowed to rebuild and fix the cathedral while Ubisoft offered to foot some of the bill, pledging more than $500,000 to go towards the reconstruction.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is available for free for a limited time.

This offer is only available to UPlay members on PC so grabbing a PS4 or Xbox One copy of the game is out of the question.

Once you claim your copy, it will remain in your library forever, even after the offer expires so there’s not really any reason not to take Ubisoft up on this offer if you don’t already own the game.

UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Unity takes place during the French Revolution.

Assassin’s Creed Unity was the first entry to release for the current generation of consoles and was the first to be set during the events of the French Revolution.

It proved to be a divisive entry in the franchise, at it sits at a 70 on Metacritic for PS4. It was heavily criticized upon launch for the vast array of bugs, lack of innovation and weak controls.

Those problems have since been cleaned up so now would be an excellent time to give it a try.
