Video games website Polygon might have accidentally leaked news of an upcoming Bully 2 announcement by accidentally forgetting to change an article’s URL.

It’s been a long 13 years since the original Bully came out, and fans have been eagerly waiting for any scrap of news on a sequel ever since.

Prayers could be answered soon though, according to video games website Polygon, who may have just accidentally leaked the time frame for an upcoming Bully 2 announcement.

Polygon may have accidentally leaked Bully 2

In an article titled ‘Bully fans think they’ve found secret news of a sequel’ where Polygon talked about the recent sequel tease in GTA Online, the site accidentally left in a massive piece of information regarding the game’s potential future announcement.

Instead of the URL relating to the title of the piece, it reads “bully-sequel-announced-fall-2020-news-embargoed-do-not-publish” – a huge oversight if it’s not a troll.

The URL claims Bully 2 will have a Fall 2020 announcement date.

If Polygon did accidentally just leak Bully 2’s announcement time frame, fans will be waiting until Fall 2020 to hear any official news on the sequel. It’s a long time to wait, but if true, it’ll no doubt be worth it.

Rumors and previous ‘leaks’ hint at the game being set at Jimmy’s step-dad’s house instead of at Bullworth Academy, while also interacting with the nearby town and summer camp – similar to the original game.

Is the leak real?

Developer Rockstar Games has admitted to wanting to make Bully 2 in the past, but instead focused on working on Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Now that they’re both out of the way, the idea of the company developing the sequel isn’t so far-fetched and could mean that Polygon’s leak is actually true.

Rockstar GamesPrevious rumors claim Bully 2 won’t be set at Bullworth Academy – but who knows?

As with all rumors and leaks, take it with a grain of salt as nothing is ever concrete until an official source comments on it.

We’ll keep you updated with any further Bully 2 developments as they happen.

UPDATE 9:36PM PST July 28:

Polygon has since admitted it was a joke, and updated its article saying: “Our original joke URL for this post has been changed. Sorry if that got your hopes up.”

The article’s author, Owen S. Good, commented further on his choice for the URL, stating: “Well, I am dining on one tasty plate of crow right now. That was a joke/troll URL. Yes it was a dumb idea. I was the only one involved in its creation (i.e. nobody else here laughed and said go for it). We’re changing it. Oh hell yeah I regret this. Not worth it and won’t do it again.”
