FaZe pro duo Tfue and Cloakzy have won the Grand Finals of the Fortnite Fall Skirmish at TwitchCon.
Pate1k and Domentos won the first match in conservative fashion. Pate1k simply sat up high on a campfire, healing himself. Down below Cloakzy was battling off a number of duos as the circle closed in. The Storm picked up the final kill for Pate1k when the circle closed in completely.
Tfue was knocked out early but Cloakzy picked up six eliminations on his own to carry his team. The FaZe duo topped the scoreboard after one match thanks to their second place finish plus the elimination bonus.
Match two was another slow affair and 60 players were still alive in a tiny end game circle. But the congestion and Storm damage finally got things going.
This time it was Pate1k’s partner Domentos that grabbed the Victory Royale with a shotgun elimination for back to back wins.
After two matches, Domentos and Pate1k were tied for first overall with Cloakzy and Tfue in a demonstration of elimination vs placement value.
Three in a row for the Europeans would not happen as Tfue and Cloakzy picked up their first Victory Royale in match 3.
Tfue and Cloakzy sat in a comfortable lead after three matches thanks to their 17 total eliminations.
Match 4 was a slog as most of the players focused on placements over eliminations. The final battles hardly featured any gun play at all as the Storm was the most effective damage dealer.
The Liquid pro duo of Chap and 72 Hrs were one of the few teams to come to life, jumping from near the bottom to top 10 after a four point match.
The controller players NICKMERCS and Ghost Aydan brought the crowd to their feet in match 5, showing rarely seen early aggression. They picked up a whopping nine eliminations despite only placing top 20.
The Storm picked up the final kill again in match 5, with Hero Ronin and JDW winning after managing to outlast a player who built a campfire some distance outside of the circle.
Tfue and Cloakzy headed into match 6 still leading overall thanks to lower scoring teams winning the fourth and fifth matches. The rest of the field needed to pick up eliminations early and often to close the gap.
The added pressure made for a more exciting match as eliminations and battles were happening more often. Zexrow and vinny1x had a monster performance, getting the Victory Royale to go with 8 eliminations for a 7 point game.
But it was not enough to take down Tfue and Cloakzy, who’s performance in the first three matches was too much to overcome. Cloakzy was the player of the tournament, finishing with 22 eliminations himself. Cloakzy on his own had more eliminations than 46 teams in the Grand Final.
