Popular YouTuber NickEh30 has suggested a new feature for Fortnite Battle Royale which would see a change to waypoints and make them significantly more useful.
Fortnite Battle Royale has taken the gaming world by storm since its release in September of 2017 and has quickly become the most talked about game of 2018.
With such rapid growth, new players are joining the Fortnite train at a rate of knots but they often find themselves heavily outskilled by the players that have already had months of practice.
The learning curve can certainly be a steep one, and popular Fortnite YouTuber, and streamer, NickEh30 has now put forward an idea that could make life a little bit easier for less knowledgeable players.
The suggestion wouldn’t have any direct impact on gameplay. Instead, it would bring a change to the waypoints (or markers) that players place on the map when they want to go to a specific destination.
NickEh30 thinks that it would be interesting to implement a distance measurement on these markers so that players could know how long it would take to reach various destinations, and perhaps even predict whether they can outrun the storm.
When you put a waypoint down on your map, in @FortniteGame, should it tell you how far away you are from that marker (ex. 156m)?
– You can time how long it takes you to run 156m, and then know for next time when you're trying to outrun the storm. Or would that make it too easy?

This suggestion would allow players to make more informed, smart decisions when trying to loot and outrun the storm, but the YouTuber does point out that it could also make life too easy.
Some people would say that predicting the speed of the storm, and knowing the game well enough to predict where you can get to in a certain time, is a skill that should be honed through practice and multiple hours of play time.
However, the idea is certainly an interesting one and might even be something that Epic Games could implement in a Limited Time Mode as a test before deciding whether to make it a feature or not.
