FortniteChapter 2 Season 4’s v14.30 patch is finally here, bringing a major buff to the Combat Shotgun, new Marvel tournaments, and a special Limited-Time Mode on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
The battle royale island has been taken over by superheroes in Season 4, and now the Marvel theme continues with what can basically be dubbed “Issue 3” in the big crossover.
With the powerful Galactus on his way with evil intentions for the reality of Fortnite, Epic Games have dropped their third major update of the season, that brings some new content for fans to sink their teeth into, and an upgrade to the Combat Shotgun that should help you in the battles to come.
The big news coming out of October 13’s 14.30 patch is that Epic have decided to make some major changes to the Combat Shotgun, which should make it a more effective tool in your arsenal going forward.
The developers have increased the range at which it will deal damage, meaning that while it is still deadly if you are up close to an opponent, it will also deal a hefiter blow to those who are further away. The exact statistics on damage range haven’t been reveiled just yet, but Epic have asked for feedback from players on the tweak.
Epic also confirmed that new super-powers will be adding to the loot pool in this update, rotating in for some of the Marvel powers we’ve been using recently.
Alongside the latest update, Epic has paved the way for a new Limited Time Mode. Rally Royale is all about getting from Point A to Point B as fast as possible, though it won’t be easy.
In this mode, your task is to collect a certain number of tickets before anyone else. If you’re first, a finish line will appear on the map. You then have to hurry to make it there in time or risk losing everything. This LTM is expected to go live “later in the week,” Epic confirmed.
Fortnite players can get their hands on the new Daredevil skin early by winning one of the Marvel Knockout Super Series in v14.30. These elimination cups begin on Wednesday, Oct. 14. There will be four across the new Fortnite x Marvel update.
There will be four total tournaments, with anyone who competes in all of them rewarded with an exclusive Nexus War glider.
As per usual, the Fortnite team has also added a number of bugs and issues to their official Trello board. This week’s patch will include fixes for many of these recurring problems, including a series of Party Royale glitches, and plenty more.
