However, the game proved to be too addicting to one young player, who was hospitalized after refusing to put the game down.

Reported by FOX13, an eight-year-old boy was admitted to hospital after refusing to stop playing Fortnite in order to use the bathroom.

The child was rushed to the ER for constipation as he chose to continue his game, rather than using the lavatory.

His parent said: “My son is stuck on that Fortnite game and was holding himself from the bathroom to continue playing.”

Dr. Mark Corkins – Chief Pediatric Gastroenterology at a children’s hospital – said the problem was extremely common for kids aged 5-11 because of their “desire to win”. He added that it is the responsibility of the parents to limit the time spent in front of a screen.

Corkins said: “As a parent, you have to look at this and say what’s the balance here? Is my child doing some sort of activity?

“Are they doing something active and most parents have a sense of that, but they need to actually step in and say ok that’s enough,” the pediatrician continued.

It looks like the youngster’s determination to play his favorite game may have cost him dearly, with his parent revealing he wouldn’t be allowed to back on to play anytime soon.
