Another week, another set of challenges for Fortnite Battle Royale. Here’s how to complete the “Follow the treasure map found in Haunted Hills” challenge for Week 9 of Season 4.
While Fortnite Battle Royale is completely free to play, a “Battle Pass” can be purchased for 950 V-Bucks (approximately $10) which opens up the opportunity to earn new cosmetics and items.
Each “Season” this Battle Pass gives players the chance to level up through 100 tiers that are unlocked as you play the game and earn experience points. Levelling up to tier 100 means that you will have unlocked all of the aforementioned items associated with that season.
The leveling up process can be sped up significantly by completing weekly challenges, which range from following treasure maps to earning kills with various weapons or eliminating a specific number of opponents in a location.
On June 28th the Fortnite developers released seven new challenges for Week 9 of Season 4. One challenge that will earn you double the amount of XP requires you to “Follow the treasure map found in Haunted Hills”.
If you’re in a hurry, you can skip the Haunted Hills side of things entirely. The map, shown below, actually sends you to somewhere else entirely.
If you’re still struggling, the area shown is located in Junk Junction. The exact location is shown on the map below.
All you need to do it visit the location shown on the map below and interact with the star in order to complete the challenge.
It is important to remember that you cannot simply collect the loot and leave the game, you have to actually participate, and get eliminated or win the match, before the challenge progress is applied.
If you’re still struggling, gattu on YouTube has uploaded a short video tutorial which can be found below.
