EA SPORTS have finally added Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani to FIFA 21 Ultimate Team, following an update in March.
At one point, you could scroll over to the available selection of Manchester United players in Ultimate Team and notice that a certain long-haired Uruguayan fella was nowhere to be found.
Despite having plenty of high-rated and special cards over the past 10 years of FUT, Edinson Cavani was omitted from FIFA’s hallmark mode earlier this year, something which left a lot of players confused.
However, after months and months of fans asking about the developers adding him late, they’ve finally been granted their wish.
Following Title Update 11.1 on March 4, which made a whole host of minor tweaks to the game, some secret changes have also been discovered.
Edinson Cavani’s Ultimate Team card is finally available on the FUT market, having been discovered by a number of players since the patch rolled out. He’s 84-rated and has the same stats as the version that was already playable in FIFA 21.
After waiting a long time to see him in Ultimate Team, players will have to splash around 30,000 coins in-game to get him.
What made this whole situation even more bizarre was the fact that EA SPORTS went out of their way to add Cavani to Manchester United’s squad in Career Mode. Yup, you read that right – the prolific forward was a Red Devil in FIFA 21, but only in the offline modes.
His rating offline was always 84 overall, with High/High work rates, three-star skill moves, and four-star weak foot. Needless to say, the focus of this card’s in-game stats are shooting and physical, which are hallmarks of El Matadors’ play-style. His pace, passing, and dribbling stats, on the other hand, do leave a lot to be desired.
Now we know that all of those stats are exactly the same in Ultimate Team, but his inclusion does bring some sense of optimism for United fans. Now that he’s available, he’s also well in line to be included in some Team of the Week promo squads – so upgrades could be on the way soon for sure.
