Another year, another E3 show with a good helping of awkward, cringy and hilarious moments, and thankfully YouTuber PewDiePie is back once again to give us the full round-up.
PewDiePie’s ‘Awkward and Cringy Moments’ video from the 2017 E3 convention is one of his best, creeping up on almost 10 million views, so it is no wonder he is back for part two following E3 2018.
And E3 did not disappoint this year, with plenty cringeworthy moments inducing a sharp intake of breath, as well as some downright funny highlights.
At this point, it wouldn’t be a proper E3 without some awkward technical issues, presenters forgetting their lines and game developers just being, well, game developers.
It is an expected outcome when trying to turn these devs into showbiz stars and presenters, but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable to rewatch and cringe all over again.
“E3 – a moment of excitement, a moment of hype, every year. What games are they going to announce? What trailer, what new footage are they going to show us?
That’s what moron would say, a man of true culture, true intellect only cares about, that’s right – cringe compilation everybody.”
Perhaps the most infamous from this year’s event was the unfortunate moment a teleprompter died during the Bethesda conference, leaving the two developers stumped for words on stage for what felt like an eternity.
And there was the poorly executed attempts at getting the rather unenthused audiences to cheer loudly, or the very over the top game introductions.
PewDiePie gave his own verdict on the show, with special attention to each major publisher’s conference.
Some of his favorite moments of course being the extremely hyped up music performance by Andrew WK ahead of the RAGE 2 reveal by Bethesda, and the rather odd flute player during Sony’s preview of Ghost of Tsushima.
