YouTube king Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg addressed a blog post made by the video-sharing website’s CEO Susan Wojcicki on February 5, wherein she admitted that her own children had called YouTube Rewind 2018 “cringey.”

In her blog post, Wojcicki admitted that YouTube had failed to feature some of the year’s biggest moments in the video, and promised that the platform would make improvements for Rewind 2019.

Pewds spoke on the statement during an episode of Pew News on February 7, where he had a surprisingly optimistic take on Wojcicki’s review.

“It feels nice to hear them say it,” PewDiePie said of the post. “Just admitting that they fucked up. I mean, I guess when you have the most disliked video on YouTube… you kinda know you did something wrong, at least.”

PewDiePie went on to congratulate the platform for better responding to creators via social media outlets – although he did take issue with YouTube’s new “Premiere” feature, claiming that the tool dropped views for his forthcoming videos.

Since its release, YouTube Rewind 2018 has become the most disliked video in the platform’s history, with over over 15 million dislikes and counting.

PewDiePie made his own rendition of the video in response to the backlash, which later became YouTube’s most liked non-music video on the site with over seven million likes.

PewDiePie even joked about being featured in Rewind 2019, likely hinting at his ongoing war against Bollywood label T-Series to secure the most subscribers on the platform.
