Popular streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins received a massive shock when fellow Twitch star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek revealed an astonishing truth about McDonalds Monopoly.
The pair were streaming Call of Duty’s new battle royale mode, Blackout, when the former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player began to feel hungry, and decided to eat some McDonald’s food.
When Ninja heard that shroud had got some fries from the legendary fast food outlet, Blevins immediately told the Canadian to “peel it back and tell me if you won,” referencing the Monopoly competition currently going on at American chains of McDonald’s, where players peel stickers off items and attempt to match them up to different squares on a Monopoly board.
Unfortunately, Grzesiek’s response shook Ninja to his very core, as he replied: “I never peel that that shit back. Never. I don’t think I ever have.”
Blevins couldn’t contain his disbelief, shouting “What?” as he tried to understand the information shroud was relaying to him. “You could be the guy who threw away millions of dollars! Are you serious?”
Shroud responded: “That will literally never happen. You’ll never win it.”
“Your chance of winning is zero if you don’t pull it back. You’re the asshole that’s throwing out Park Place eight times!” raged Ninja. “You’re probably right,” replied shroud.
While shroud may have been busy competing at the top level in a number of different esports, it’s still impossible to believe that a cultural phenomenon like McDonalds Monopoly has somehow passed him by.
The good news is that you definitely have a slightly higher chance of winning prizes now, as there is absolutely no chance that the Canadian will!
