JoJo Siwa has apologized after a card game she brought out for kids in 2018 faced complaints about age-inappropriate playing cards.

Tween influencer JoJo Siwa has her own card game for kids aged 6 and up called “JoJo’s juice” which was marketed to her typically very young audience.

However, the game has had serious backlash from parents who have pointed out that many of the questions, which are in a “Truth or Dare” format, are aimed at older players.

The questions in the game include “how well do you know JoJo?” or asks how well the players know each other. However, parents on social media have reported questions such as “have you ever stolen from a store?” or “have you ever been walked in on?”

Other age-inappropriate questions that found complaints were “Have you ever kissed a boy?,” “have you learned the art of twerking?” and “Who in this room would you most like to date?”

The backlash recently came to a head when Spin Master, the manufacturer behind the game, announced that they would pull the game. In a statement to Insider, they said, “We respect and value the relationship JoJo Siwa has with her fans and take the concerns raised regarding the game ‘JoJo’s Juice’ very seriously…This game is no longer being manufactured and we have requested that retailers pull any remaining product from their shelves.”

Meanwhile, JoJo herself took to Instagram and TikTok to address the issues.

In a short video, she said “Now, when companies make these games, they don’t run every aspect by me, so I had no idea of the types of questions that were on these playing cards.”

“I hope you all know that I would have never ever, ever approved or agreed to be associated with this game if I would have seen these cards before they started selling it.”

JoJo also confirmed that the game would no longer be sold.
