Popular Twitch streamer Dr DisRespect isn’t letting the shooting attack on his family home stop his momentum as he makes his return the following day, with a message for his fans.

The Doc was forced to abruptly cancel his stream on September 11 after hearing a loud noise, which he then revealed was gun fire, with a bullet striking an upstairs window in his home.

He also said it was the second time in as many days that someone had shot at/outside his home in Encinitas, all but confirming it was a targeted attack specifically because of Dr DisRespect’s online persona.

He later released a statement confirming no one had been harmed, and that the situation was being “handled appropriately”.

Turning on his stream less than 24 hours after, he had a special message for his viewers.

“Let’s get it out of the way. Not going to be talking about anything related to what happened yesterday. Not making a big deal about it. It’s being handled, and that’s all I’m going to say about it.

Today, champions club members in the arena, we move forward, we get right back into a groove – a nasty, funky groove, in the online gaming community. We’re going to jumpstart that ‘violence, speed and momentum’, and that’s where I want to be today. That’s all I’m going to say about it.”

He went on to thank all his fans for the support, but that any donations with questions relating to the incident would be ignored, in an attempt to move past it and draw no more attention to it.

It didn’t stop viewers from immediately showing an outpouring of support, with new subscribers and gifted subscriptions, and an influx of donations with well wishes.

He quickly attracted more than 40,000 concurrent viewers to the stream, as he partnered up with OpTic Gaming member Damon “Karma” Barlow on the Blackout beta. You can watch the Doc live on his Twitch Channel.
