Demon Slayer cosplayer controls her bloodlust as chilling Nezuko Kamado

Fans of Demon Slayer went wild over a cosplayer’s jaw dropping take on Nezuko Kamado. The talented artist perfectly captured the character’s struggle to contain her bloodlust.

2019 was a big year for anime, as breakout shows like Demon Slayer captured the minds of viewers across the world. The series’ gripping story about a boy’s quest to avenge his family after they are slaughtered by demons connected with millions.

A skilled cosplayer brought the protagonist’s sister Nezuko Kamado to life with an insanely detailed costume. Fans were in awe of the artist’s accurate depiction of the demon-turned character.

Demon Slayer cosplayer transforms into Nezuko

In the story, Nezuko and Tanjiro are the only surviving members of the Kamado family after they are murdered by evil. However the anime heroine is cursed and turned into a demon herself. Throughout the series, she struggles to retain her humanity.

Cosplayer ‘astarohime’ dressed up as the protagonist’s sister, and shared her true-to-life costume on social media. Photographer ‘islen_ph‘ captured the artist posing outdoors in the snowy woods.

The gorgeous re-creation could have been a scene directly out of the anime, as the skilled artist creatively depicted Nezuko’s struggle to contain her demonic blood-lust.

She also teamed up with fellow cosplayer ‘cheshire_fox‘ who portrayed Tanjiro, as the two brought the sibling duo to life. The adorable picture shows the brother and sister promising to stick together to the very end.

Astaro shared more pictures of her incredible cosplay, and posted a close-up shot of her as Kamado. In the story, the heroine’s red eyes turn pink after being transformed into a demon – which she nailed. She also perfectly created the character’s signature pink kimono and its geometrical patterns.

The Russian artist wowed fans of the series with her faithful portrayal of the character, even baring her fangs as she fights back her demonic urges. User ‘winston.nigel’ said “Nezuko rocks! Really cool cosplay. Nice,” while ‘billyq14’ exclaimed “You look so precious as Nezuko!”

Demon Slayer originally made its debut as a manga in the popular Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2016. However it exploded in popularity with its anime adaptation by studio Ufotable.

Fans are currently on the edge of their seats waiting for the 2020 movie ‘Mugen Train‘ to drop, as it will continue the show’s story. Those looking to catch up in time can watch the entire first season on Crunchyroll or Funimation.
