eUnited’s James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks hinted at a surprising role swap in the OpTic Gaming squad.

During the pre-show at CWL Anaheim, Clayster suggested that Samuel ‘Octane’ Larew, one of the two newer additions to OpTic, is no longer playing the main AR role.

Octane has been one of Call of Duty’s premier main AR players over recent years, not only one of the greatest in his role but at times even a candidate as the single best player in the world. If Clayster is correct, however, it seems he could now be making a shift in playstyle.

Octane isn’t the only main AR candidate in the team, however. Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni also played main AR prior to joining OpTic, and even Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter filled the position on the former squad earlier in the season before returning it to Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper.

Potentially difficulties balancing roles was consequently one of the questions raised when the new line-up was announced, and it seems the team is in fact still figuring out how best to organize.

Clayster didn’t specify who would be taking up the role in place of Octane, but given Crimix’s famous versatility it seems most likely that the change would be made in order to accommodate Methodz’ preferred playstyle.

If a change has indeed been made, OpTic Gaming will have plenty of chances to test the new arrangement over the coming weekend as they fight for the CWL Anaheim trophy. WWII has seen OpTic Gaming’s longest championship drought for several years, and the team is still looking for its first win this season.
